These terms govern your use of EvenRound ("the Service", "we", "our"). By using the Service you agree to them.
1. The Service
EvenRound is a web application for splitting group expenses. We provide tools for tracking who paid for what, calculating balances, and computing optimal settlement plans. We do not move money on your behalf - payments are settled through third-party rails of your choosing.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are in the EU, you must be at least the digital-consent age in your country (between 13 and 16).
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, defraud, or impersonate others.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or violates the privacy of third parties.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits.
- Use the Service for money laundering, tax evasion, or any activity prohibited by law in your jurisdiction.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without written permission.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of group data, expenses, comments, and receipts you create or upload. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
5. Receipt processing and AI
When you use AI receipt scanning, we send the receipt image to our AI providers for OCR and line-item extraction. We do not send other group data. Providers do not retain inputs for model training. The extracted data is shown to you for review before becoming part of an expense.
6. Payments and settlements
We do not hold funds. Settle-up payment links open third-party payment apps (PayPal, Wise, Revolut, Venmo, Stripe links) that you and the recipient have set up independently. We are not party to those transactions and bear no responsibility for their success, fees, or chargebacks.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but provide the Service "as is" with no guaranteed uptime. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or temporarily suspend the Service.
8. Account termination
You may delete a group at any time from its settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We will give you reasonable notice unless the violation is severe (e.g., fraud, abuse).
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Calculations are best-effort; you should double-check before transferring large sums.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, on the free tier, is €0).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Dublin, Ireland, unless mandatory consumer-law provisions in your jurisdiction apply.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service and the effective date will be updated at the top.
