EvenRound for digital nomads
Last updated by The EvenRound team.
Co-living shares, coworking memberships, and one person who's always abroad on Monday mornings.
Digital nomads have a perpetual expense-splitting problem: they share spaces (co-livings, coworking, group rentals) but their attendance pattern is week-on-week-off. The fixed costs need to be split fairly without penalising the person who flew to Lisbon for 8 days. EvenRound' shares mode and per-expense exclusions are built for exactly this.
Common scenarios
Recommended setup
Apartment template, default to EUR or USD, shares mode for variable utilities, recurring expenses for subscriptions. Use shares = 1 per person normally; adjust to (days_present / 30) for usage-based items like coworking.
Sample calculation
5 nomads in a Lisbon co-living, monthly settlement
| Who paid | For | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Group lead | Co-living rent (paid) | €2,500 |
| Anna | Coworking team (paid) | €450 |
| Ben | Group dinners ×4 | €480 |
| Cara | Streaming subs ×3 | €42 |
Settlement
Co-living equal-split (€500 each); coworking by usage-days; group dinners equal among attendees per night; subs equal. Final: each member transfers €620-680 depending on coworking days.
Why EvenRound works for digital nomads
- Shares mode handles 'days present' calculations cleanly.
- Recurring expenses for monthly subscriptions remove re-entry burden.
- Multi-currency for nomads who pay rent in EUR but earn in USD.
