How to share a receipt photo with everyone in the group

The EvenRound team · EditorialPublished Updated 1 min read

Someone wants proof. Or wants to double-check the math. Sharing the receipt should take 5 seconds.

Receipts attached to expenses are visible to every group member by default. There's no 'share' step - once attached, anyone in the group can tap the expense and see the photo. But sometimes you want to push the receipt outside the app: into a group chat, an email to finance, or a direct message to one person. Here's the cleanest way.

Steps

  1. 01
Open the expense with the attached receipt

From the group page, tap the expense. Receipt thumbnail appears at the top.

  2. 02
Tap the receipt to open the full-size view

Pinch-to-zoom works for examining detail. Useful when checking a specific line item.

  3. 03
Use 'Share' to send to a chat or email

Native share sheet on iOS/Android. Sends the image directly. Email, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram all work.

  4. 04
Use 'Copy public link' for a longer-lived URL

Generates a tokenised link to the receipt that anyone with the link can view (no EvenRound account needed). Useful for sending to finance or an accountant.

  5. 05
Revoke the public link when no longer needed

The public link expires after 90 days by default. Or revoke manually from the receipt menu - the URL stops working immediately.

Worked example

Sharing a hotel receipt with finance

Riya logged her £420 hotel as an expense in the group. Finance asks for the receipt. She opens the expense, taps Receipt, taps Copy public link, pastes into the email. Finance views without needing a EvenRound account. After approval, Riya revokes the link.

Receipts are private to the group by default and shareable on demand. Two clicks to share, one to revoke.
