Splitting expenses on a Mykonos trip - what to budget, how to settle up

Last updated by The EvenRound team.

Beach club day beds, sunset cocktails at €18, and one yacht day that nearly broke the budget.

Mykonos is the most expensive Greek island and one of the most expensive group destinations in Europe. Beach clubs charge €100–€500 per day bed (Nammos and Scorpios at the high end), cocktails are €15–€25, and a 'yacht for the day' from the harbour starts at €1500. Group splits here are about deciding which days are 'going out' days (when costs spike) and which are 'casual' days (when they don't).

Realistic per-person daily budget

Common shared-expense scenarios in Mykonos

  1. 01
    Nammos or Scorpios day-bed booking

€500–€2000 minimum spend for a day bed; food and drinks count toward the minimum.

    Split tip

Bed reservation equal across users; food and drinks exact per consumer. Track minimum-spend carefully - if you're under, the difference becomes a cash-out.

  2. 02
Yacht day with skipper from Ornos

€1500–€2500 for a 6–8 person yacht; lunch at a beach taverna en route.

    Split tip

Yacht equal across riders. Lunch at the beach stop logged separately as exact splits.

  3. 03
Cavo Tagoo / Bill & Coo dinner with à la carte

    Tasting menus €120+, à la carte mains €40–€80, wines €70–€200 a bottle.

    Split tip

Strict exact splits. Don't equal-split a Mykonos fine-dining bill - the variance per dish is enormous.

  4. 04
    ATV rental for the group

Each person rents their own ATV (€25–€45/day) - Mykonos roads aren't suited for one car for 6.

    Split tip

Personal - each person pays their rental.

  5. 05
    Sunset bar at Little Venice

180° View, Caprice, Galleraki: cocktails €15–€20 each, no tabs combined.

    Split tip

    Per-attendee. Each round logged separately.

Recommended split mode for Mykonos

Strict exact for everything in Mykonos

Mykonos prices are too high and per-person variance too large to use anything but exact splits. One person ordering a champagne bottle vs. another ordering a beer is a €200+ swing.

    • Taxi from airport

    • Dinner Chora
  2. Day 2

    • ATV rentals

Best for groups of …

Best for groups of 4–8. Villas typically sleep 6–10; yacht charters work well at 6–8. Beach club minimums are punishing for groups smaller than 4.

Currency notes

Eurozone. Tipping 10–15% at beach clubs and high-end restaurants - service charge is sometimes added; check before tipping. ATMs are widely available; Eurobank, Alpha Bank, and Piraeus charge nothing for partner banks. Bring cash for taxis and small bars; many add a €1–€2 'card fee' for charges under €30.

Mykonos is the trip where exact splits aren't optional. Equal-splitting in Mykonos can lead to one person silently subsidising others by €500+ over a weekend.
